Applying For SNAP In Florida

SNAP — food assistance — is applied for through the Florida Department of Children and Families, online at MyACCESS. It is free to apply and applying does not affect your housing.

Have these ready before you start

• Photo ID for the head of household
• Social Security numbers for everyone applying
• Proof of income for the last 30 days for everyone in the home
• Rent or mortgage amount, and utility bills
• Childcare costs, and any child support paid or received

What to expect

You will be asked to complete an interview, usually by phone. Answer the call — a missed interview is the most common reason applications stall. Keep the confirmation number you are given at the end of the application.
