In Florida, a landlord who says you have not paid rent must give you a written 3-day notice before they can file anything in court. Weekends and legal holidays do not count in those three days.
Paying the full amount within the three days ends the process. Pay in a traceable way — never cash without a signed receipt — and keep the proof.
Tell us. We may be able to cover part of it, negotiate with your landlord, or buy you time. Partial payment can complicate a case, so talk to us before you send anything.
This is general information about how the process works, not legal advice. For advice on your specific case, speak to a lawyer or a legal aid service.
